SEEKING HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

It is imperative that the Christian desires and seeks to be baptized by the Holy Spirit just like the Lord Jesus on the day of His water Baptism and the Apostles on the day of Pentecost…

Matt.3:16-17 KJV

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: [17] and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased

Acts 2:1-4 KJV

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The Holy Spirit gives us power to live a sinless life like Christ and He enables us to do the work of God as He did such that the Father was pleased with Him…

Acts1:8 NLT

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit helps us to pray effectively because He knows what is hidden about any matter and He reveals them to us…

Ro.8:26-27 KJV

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [27] And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

He gives us a special unknown language of the Spirit called Tongues which we use in prayer, especially warfare prayer, and in high praises of God. Tongues are also used in giving prophecy and He also gives some the gift of interpretation of the prophecy given in tongues.

How to pray to receive the Holy Spirit baptism…

Lu.11:9-13 KJV

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. [10] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [11] If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? [12] Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? [13] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Pray like this…

Holy Spirit of God, I ask that You baptize me as the Father promised and fill me with power to win the battles of life, especially against sin and and unGodly habits. Fill me with Your joy so that I will never again look for happiness in mere things of life…in Jesus Name Amen

Begin to praise God for a good while, asking for the language of the Spirit and you may begin to speak in an unknow tongue, first like a baby but it will mature as you use it.

The Holy Spirit can also be received by Spirit-filled Christians laying hands on you.
