THE MYSTERY OF THE WATERS

THE MYSTERY OF THE WATERS

Right from the start of the Bible, from the very second verse, we begin to read about waters, and let us note straightaway that the Holy Spirit had an operation to perform on the waters –

Gen.1:2

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

By the next day of creation, God organised the waters and set them in their places of operation and He was quite satisfied at the outcome by the end of that day –

Gen.1:7,9,10

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

On the fifth day, God filled the seas with creatures which He blessed, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas… Gen.1:22.

When God made Man, He put so much water in man such that it is scientifically proven that the human body is 75% water. Selah! This means ‘pause and think about that’…. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Gen.1:2b

This calls for a very crucial prayer-point right now! Lay your right hand on your chest and say –

Holy Spirit of the Living God, move upon the waters of my body and bring order where there is disorder, bring light where there is darkness and bring fruitfulness where there is barrenness as You did at creation, in Jesus Name. Amen.

But, first, What is a Mystery?

A mystery is a needful but hidden truth or information which can only be found out by diligent search through the help of the Holy Spirit of God.

Hear what the Scriptures teach about divine mystery –

Matt.13:10,11

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

 Mk.4:33,34

And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. 34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

 1Cor.2:7-16

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

 These Scriptures tell us that

  • A parable is a mystery
  • The Lord Jesus deliberately used to speak in parables when speaking to His followers
  • The revelation of mysteries is a gift given by the Lord ONLY to His Disciples
  • Many of the truths or wisdom of the Kingdom of God are hidden in mysteries. Note that Jesus is The Truth as well as The Wisdom of God. (Jn.14:6; 1Cor.1:24)
  • God reveals His mysteries to only those who have made Jesus Lord as well as Saviour, and are controlled by His Holy Spirit. Being Spirit-controlled makes a Christian obedient to God and deserving of being called His Friend. (Lu.6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? That means, ‘’If you have truly made Me Lord, you will obey Me’’
  • The Holy Spirit searches out the mysteries of God, in His Word and through divine revelations, in Believers who have the Mind of Christ.

We quickly realise through these Scriptures that for any Believer to understand any mysteries of God, we need the help of the Holy Spirit of God, and we need to have the Mind of Christ. Therefore, we must strive to rise above the level of simply getting saved and becoming sons of God, to the level of becoming sons who are also friends of God. This can only be achieved through diligent Discipleship in Church and private devotions.

Now, there are two types of waters that we encounter in life which the Word of God teaches of – Divine Waters and Dragon waters. We shall study both and do a whole lot of praying as well.

Divine Waters

  1. Gen.2:10-14

And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. 11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; 12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. 13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. 14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

Here we are told that God made the river that flowed into the Garden of Eden, to part and become four river-heads. Eden was the home of the first family; and I believe that that home was a prototype of God’s design for every home. The river was to water the garden and must also have been for drinking and so on. Each river-head had a prophetic name in which we find the function it was to perform in the lives of the first family; and in the families of everyone who has been led back to his/her Eden by the Second Adam through His sacrificial death on The Cross.

We know that God always gives names that reveal the destiny of a thing or person and that is why He would change the name of anyone He would use if the current name does not fit that role. For instance, ‘Jacob’ = ‘Supplanter’ was changed to ‘Israel’ = ‘a Prince of God’ to fit his divine destiny of being the father and progenitor of the Twelve Tribes of the Nation of Israel. See Gen.32:28.

Back to the river-heads’ names and their meanings –

  • PISON, which means ‘free flowing, freedom to move forward and establish anything’. Let’s take a quick prayer-point here – I drink of the waters of Pison and I receive the life therein to move forward freely in all my endeavours and be established in my God-given destiny, in Jesus Name.
  • GIHON, meaning ‘to burst forth with inner energy’. Prayer-point – I drink of the waters of Gihon and receive the life therein and I burst forth by the power of the Holy Spirit in the waters, out of every limitation of life, in Jesus Name.
  • HIDDEKEL, meaning ‘rapid result’. Prayer-point – I drink of the waters of Hiddekel and I receive the life therein to give me rapid results in all my Godly pursuits, in Jesus Name. You can be specific here if you have a situation in which you desire rapid results.
  • EUPHRATES, meaning ‘fruitfulness. Prayer-point – I drink of the waters of Euphrates and I receive the life therein to make me fruitful in my body, my soul, my spirit and in all the works of my hands, in Jesus Name.

It is important to note straightaway here that the Tree of Life is close to the waters – …the tree of life also in the midst of the garden,…Gen.2:9. The Tree of Life is Jesus, the Word of God of which God told Adam to eat regularly – Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:.., except, of course, of the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil, which teaches man’s carnal way of doing things.

  1. Eze.47:1-14 (Please read it in your Bible as it is quite a long passage)

Right from the 40th chapter of the Book of Ezekiel, God began to show the Prophet Ezekiel the divine pattern for the Temple which God will use to replace the Temple of Solomon which the Babylonians destroyed. Of course, this new pattern was not for an earthly temple – none of God’s pattern for a place of worship ever was, even the pattern for the Tabernacle which He gave to Moses. God’s pattern was always for the living temples of the bodies of redeemed Man, where He longs to live and show forth His glory to the world –

1Cor.3:16

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

And He Himself came to the world in a Body to show us just how He longed to do just that –

Heb10:5

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Col.2:9

For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

We can also see this pattern for the new Temple in Eze.47 as the pattern for our Eden where the Second Adam will take us when we believe in Him. This new Eden will be a living, redeemed home for God, His Temple, a place where God will come and dwell, not just visit in the cool of the day. Gen.3:8. Jesus came to make all that concerns us whole; He did not come just to save our soul, our spirit. And in this new pattern for the Temple which we read of in Ezekiel chapter 47, we immediately see the Divine Waters flowing through the Temple, with numerous Trees of Life all thriving along the sides of the Waters. See verse7. The Lord Jesus had every intention of multiplying Himself when He came to the earth!

In this exciting but mysterious passage of Scripture, Eze.47:1-14, God reveals to us the process by which He will use His Divine Waters to guide us in our Christian walk with Him to the point where we will have the power, the anointing and the liberty, emancipation to establish anything He needs us to achieve in on earth; the point when we will burst forth with enough anointing to break every yoke and overcome all obstacles in our way and have rapid results in all our endeavours! We will thereby fulfil God’s mandate of being fruitful in our body, soul and spirit according to God’s pattern and timing. There is no short-cut in God’s school of discipleship.

Getting to know Him and walking with Him in complete trust and obedience was God’s desire for Adam and Eve and they would have been automatically guided along the way by the Holy Spirit if Adam and Eve had been eating of the Tree of Life (The Word of God) and drinking from the four river-heads (Holy Spirit anointing). But they were seduced by the cunning serpent of old, Satan himself, and he led them in disobedience to seek to become like God, knowing good and evil Gen.3:4. They took the way of disobedience, by eating of the forbidden fruit by which they would use their own human reasoning of working out what is good and what is evil.

…my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Jer.2:13.

So now, let’s study this process by which God guides us in our walk with Him, using His Divine Waters step by step –

  1. The Source of the Waters

…. and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. Eze.47:1.

But where do these waters originate from? That is a question that will be answered by and by as we follow their path and note their works. All we know here is that the waters flow by the Altar in this new Temple God is showing the Prophet Ezekiel.

Now, A divine Altar is a place of meeting between us and God, but God’s desire is that His place of meeting with us would be within us ourselves as His Temples, such that when people meet with us, they would automatically meet with Him as well. Also, our prayer Altar has to be linked with the Golden Altar of Incense in front of God’s Throne in heaven such that our Altar would constantly receive fire and power from heaven. The Golden Altar represents the intercessory Ministry of the Lord Jesus, our able Advocate in heaven. When our Altar links up with His, it means that we are praying the same prayers Jesus is praying about the matter we are presenting to God on earth.

Rev.8:3,4

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

The Lord puts it this way in Jn.15:7 –

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

We can safely conclude that, if the Altar in the Temple is linked with the Golden Altar in heaven, it would mean then that as the waters flow by the Altar in the Temple, the waters will gather power from heaven from the Altar. So, we know from this point on that these are waters which are infused with power, anointing from heaven.

      2. The Ministry of The Waters

Therefore, these waters flowing from the Temple will have the ability to minister strength to us in various stages along the path of our walk with God; For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: Isa.28:10. God uses the waters to draw us closer to Himself, step by step, from one level to the next as revealed to us in this Ezekiel chapter 47 passage. As we study this passage of Scripture, we shall note that at each level, God uses different depths of waters which we have to pass through along this exciting journey with Him. They are not designed to drown us, but to be just deep enough for us to pass through; and to ensure that, an Angel is released to us to measure the waters and make sure that they do not exceed the level God has purposed for them to be. God’s promise through the Prophet Isaiah must not be broken; for He said in Isaiah 43:2 –

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you…(underline added for your attention)

The Angel from God is there to measure the waters to God’s specified level and no more. Bless God! That reminds me of what God said in Jer.5:22 –

Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

Now, divine waters are programed to minister to us in stages –

i. Stage 1 – To the ankles. Eze.47:3 –

And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.

The first level of waters that will come our way in our walk with God is only ankle-deep; and this initial level is used by God to change the direction of our walk in life from the worldly way to the Divine Way. The Lord Jesus said in Jn.14:6 I am The Way…. We begin our journey along The Way when we commit our lives to Christ and begin our walk with God. Getting saved in Christ is not a destination as some think, but the beginning of an exciting journey with our Maker. This journey is to train us how to live on earth as His Sons, His Kings and Priests, His representatives, as His model Son, Jesus Christ did. Our walk with God is also to bring us into a close relationship with Him so that He can show us His glory in which we shall bask  when we pass over to live with Him in His amazing heavenly abode from where rules over the universe.

Quick prayer needed here – I receive the waters of God on my ankles to change my walk and my ways from that of the natural man to that of the spiritual man today, in Jesus Name. Amen.

ii. Stage 2 – To the knees. Eze.47:4a –

Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees…

At this level, the waters will rise and begin to shake us a little, and drive us to our knees in supplication to Him as our only place of refuge. We now begin our training in the Place of Prayer, graduating to become Prayer-addicts and Prayer-warriors as Heaven responds to our cry and demons tremble when we get on our knees. Here we learn how to pray all manner of prayers with every breath as the Holy Spirit directs us, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit… Eph.6.18. From this stage in our Christian walk, it would not matter to us where we are and what we are doing, we just must obey the command of Scripture to Pray without ceasing. 1Thess.5:17, being always at the ready to communicate with God and bring all issues of life to Him for guidance.

Beloved, God uses the waters at this level to keep drawing us to Himself so that we become strong in Him and learn that He is our only help and hope in all situations of life. However, this is not God’s original plan and purpose for His Divine waters, but man is stubborn and proud and would rather learn by experience than by divine gentle prodding! Experience is not the best teacher, God is. The English adage quoted fully says ‘’Experience is the best teacher for a fool’’. God Himself, through His Holy Spirit, has made Himself available to His children as the best Teacher!

Hear God’s lamentation in Isa.48:8,17,18 NKJV –

Thus says the Lord , your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Surely you did not hear, Surely you did not know; Surely from long ago your ear was not opened. For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, And were called a transgressor from the womb.’

However, we need not fear, for God assures us over and over in this Ezekiel 47 passage that He will bring us through the waters and make sure we come to no harm – and he brought me through the waters. See verses 3, 4(recorded twice here!), and 6. God also said so in Isa.43:2 NKJV –

But now, thus says the Lord , who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you….

We have a truly loving and tender Father Who sees all things, be they in the past, present or future; and He promised to tell us of future events, both beneficial and harmful – Isa.48:5  I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee. The purpose is so that we might overcome in the place of prayer before the physical manifestations of the events.

Pray like this – I receive from the Holy Spirit the gift of discernment so that I will be sensitive to the gentle waters of my heavenly Father in the place of prayer. My knees! Receive from the waters of God the power to pray without ceasing until victory is won, in Jesus Name.

iii. Stage 3 – To the loins. Eze.47:4b –

…Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.

Our loins are where our reproductive gates are located and when the waters of God flood through those gates, we receive power to be fruitful in our spirit, soul and body. The effect of the waters on our soul will revive our intellect, control our emotions and guide our choices with wisdom from above; thus making us more productive in all we do.

Pray like this with your hands on your loins (on either side of your tummy) – My reproductive gates! Hear that Word of the Lord! Open wide and receive the waters of God so that I will be fruitful and multiply in every area of my life, in Jesus Name!

iv. Stage 4 – Waters to swim in. Eze.47:5 –

Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.

This is where the waters begin to bring us abundant grace and ease; and just carry us to our place of rest in God where we are able to flow out and be a blessing to others. The Lord said this in Jn.7: 38,39

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Here again we find the Holy Spirit in close relationship to the waters, operating together in harmony. But let’s continue with our study of the divine process by which God uses the waters to guide us along the way, the narrow way; and then we shall draw some needful conclusions and learn some life lessons to ease us on our way.

        3. The Purpose of The Waters

Our God does not do anything without a clear purpose or more; and so, the numerous reasons for which God uses Divine Waters to guide us in our walk with Him are clearly enumerated in verses 8-12 of Eze.47 –

Verse 8Healing of the land and of nations. The waters flow down to the sea and the healing virtues in the waters enter the sea and heal the waters of the sea. And we know that most nations have a sea coast line, therefore nations bordering the sea shall be revived and healed and from them land-locked nations will also be reached and healed.

Verse 9Multitudes will receive eternal life through the salvation message of Christ Jesus, preached by Believers who have received anointing and empowerment from the waters of God. Furthermore, all those who get saved will also be healed and receive deliverance as well; in short, they will be made whole.

Verse 10Multitudes of those saved will be prepared for Ministry by the waters, to go forth and become fishers of more men and bring them to Christ!

Verse 11The waters shall minister destruction to ‘sinking sand’ grounds; those demonic places where people worship and depend on other gods.

Verse 12 – Numerous Trees of Life will flourish at the sides of the waters, producing different fruit every month for our nourishment. That is, the Word of God; fresh Word to guide us in differing situations of life. We also receive healing from the medicinal leaves in case of illness.

         4. The Goal of the Waters

Eze.47:13,14

Thus saith the Lord GOD; This shall be the border, whereby ye shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions. 14 And ye shall inherit it, one as well as another: concerning the which I lifted up mine hand to give it unto your fathers: and this land shall fall unto you for inheritance.

The goal of the waters is to give us, not only eternal life in heaven but as well, our inheritance on this earth, if we meekly submit to the ministry of the waters. This is the promise of Christ in Matt.5:5 – Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. In other words, the waters will empower us to take dominion in every situation of life and enable us to expand the kingdom of God to its outermost limits before Christ comes back as He instructed us to do. Hallelujah!! Amen!

             Christ’s teaching about Divine Waters

Let’s continue our study on Divine Waters and learn what Christ says about them –

Jn.4:10,13,14

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water…. 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Jn.7:37-39

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Jn.15:3

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

This is now the personification of the Tree of Life talking about living water; and we see very clearly here again that the living water is related to the Tree of Life and to the Holy Spirit who was yet to be given to Believers during the earthly Ministry of the Lord. The Lord is the One who will give us the living water to drink in this dispensation, just like the first Adam was expected to have been drinking of the waters of the river-heads in the garden of Eden where the Tree of Life was.

The Lord tells us here the result of drinking His living water – we will never thirst again. That is, if we drink of the water which He, The Living Word of God gives us daily, we will be so satisfied that we will never thirst for any other form of knowledge again. We will be so satisfied that it will be impossible to divert us from the light and truth of the Word of God.

In fact, the water of the Word has the ability to well up in us and flow out to others to be nourished by it. This is because of the Holy Spirit’s operation upon the water which we see here again spoken of in Jn.7:39. The Holy Spirit needs the water of the Word in us to perform that operation. What the Lord is saying here is that, the water is the Word of God and we must ingest/drink/read the Word daily and memorise large portions of it if we want the living water to well up in us and flow out of our bellies to nourish others. This is the way to produce fruit in the kingdom of God – to bring others to Christ and teach them all He has taught us.

The Lord also teaches us that He uses the water of the Word to sanctify us. See Jn.15:3 quoted above. This is the only way we can inherit all Christ died to give us. James put it this way in Ja.1:21 –

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

And Paul put it this way in Eph.5:25-28 –

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

The ministry of the water by the Holy Spirit in the life of a Believer causes him to inherit the earth and also reign with Christ as His Bride. Wow! No wonder the Samaritan woman cried to the Lord …Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. Jn.4:15.

Now this is a perfect prayer-point for us – Lord Jesus, fill me up with Your living water now, so that I will never thirst of anything in my life again! Holy Spirit, move upon the water, sanctify me, nourish me and make me a Bride of Christ, in Jesus Name.

Apocalyptic Teaching about Divine Waters

The study of Divine waters cannot be complete until we hear what the Book of the End-Times has to say about it. The Book of Revelation gives us the heavenly picture of all things as God finally begins to judge evil and restore all things to its former glory.

Rev. 22:1-5

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

  •  We learn conclusively here that the Waters we have been studying is The Water of Life
  • The source of It is the very Throne of God!
  • The Tree of Life is by the Water as always
  • The Water and the Tree of Life work together to give healing and deliverance from curses to nations and cause God and the Lord Jesus to be enthroned in nations.
  • Only those who serve God here shall serve Him there and only they shall see His Face and bear His Name on their foreheads.
  • They shall also reign with Him forever

What? Then our prayer-point here is very clear and urgent! Lord, here I am, use me! Take me, break me, mould me, fill me with Your Living Water and place me in my place of assignment for You on earth. Write Your Name on my forehead and count me to be among those that will see Your altogether lovely Face in heaven. Do it, Lord, for the sake of Your glorious Name. Thank You, Lord Jesus. Amen.

DRAGON WATERS

There is always a satanic counterfeit to everything that God does. The devil uses flood waters to torment us and terrify us and seek to carry us away from our place of dominion just when the glory is about to break-forth. Funny enough, he does this when we have become too strong in the Lord for him to handle, when we have made God our shield and buckler indeed and his nefarious antics have been made of none effect in our lives and he is frustrated no end! He will then use wicked words of slander to seek to discourage us. He will flood us with so much little troubles such as… today the fridge breaks down, tomorrow a child is sick, next day the bank calls in a loan too early and so on; Satan raises troubled waters that seek to make us deny our good God and question His love for us… Just as the dragon did to Job, destroying everything he had in one fell swoop…

Let’s study a prophetic example of dragon waters in Rev.12 –

Rev.12:1-4

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Here we find the dragon seeking to attack a woman in her most vulnerable situation, seeking to devour a promise she has nurtured and incubated for months in her womb! The Lord Himself had to come to her rescue and she relentlessly gave birth to her promise, which God promptly retrieved and brought to His Throne away from danger. God also sent Michael and the warrior Hosts of Angels to defeat the dragon, and He took the woman to a place of safety from the face of the dragon. But that only infuriated the dragon more and he sought to flood her out of her hiding place by releasing flood waters against her!

Beloved, the dragon seeks to do the same for us and we will not take it from him any longer; so we are going to war against that dragon today, in Jesus Name. The woman represents the nation of Israel about to give birth to the promised Messiah. The woman also represents all spiritual sons of Abraham – The Church! And any discerning Believer knows by now that the dragon always comes on the attack whenever we are about to give birth to a promise of God which we have incubated with prayer and fasting for only God knows how long!  Are we going to put up with that, Beloved? I think not!

Let’s pray then –

  1. Thank God for all the promises He has made you which He has fulfilled; this is the word of our testimony which is one crucial weapon against the dragon… Rev.12:11a And they overcame him (the dragon) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”
  2. Bring before the Lord the pending promises, not because He has forgotten, but to remind yourself so that you will be expectant. The Bible promises that our expectation shall not be cut off. Prov.23:18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
  3. Let us repent for all our sins afresh and also the sins of our ancestors and our children (for those who have). Let us ask for mercy and for a fresh washing of the Blood of Jesus.

Now, pray like this –

  1. Father, let me and my family and all these pending promises begin to dwell under the shadow of Your Wings, shielded from the face of the dragon from now on, in Jesus Name.
  2. Father, release to us the Archangel Michael and the Host to slay the dragon poised to swallow our breakthroughs, in Jesus Name.
  3. Father, release Your heavenly carpenters spoken of in Zech.1:18-21 to come and fray and cast out the horns of the dragon which he is using to prevent our breakthroughs from manifesting, in Jesus Name.
  4. O Earth! Earth! Earth! Hear the Word of the Lord! Help me now! Open your mouth and swallow all the flood waters which the dragon has released against me and my family, in Jesus Name.
  5. Father, I ask that You release the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Ghost fire to barricade us and all our loved ones from the face of every frustrated dragon assigned against us, in Jesus Name, Amen!
  6. Begin to testify of the Lord’s goodness in your life and family.

Rev.12:10,11

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
